Love Letters to Myself - It's Never Gonna Be Perfect (Interlude)

This was the first song I wrote on the album - it was written while I was recording my first album, back in 2018. I decided to do a new recording; I did a few in 2018 and 2019 but I wanted to capture my current essence in 2022.

I love how perfectly imperfect the very first note is. It was the first and only take of the first half and I wanted to own it, especially since it fits with the title of the song.

It's mostly just a very simple I - V - I chord progression but I threw in a V7/V - the Major II chord - to make it a bit more interesting!! At the point where I wrote it, I felt a bit of shame and humility in the simplicity of these chords. But now I try to focus how it was and still is so fun to play and sing. It's just an entertaining song, and I like it! Love Letter #1!
