Like the intro, the outro of my album also has just piano, my voice, and the "Celestial Voices" synth pad from Logic. Perhaps a liiiiittle preachy, this track is all about getting to know yourself intimately. Just like you can't truly fall in love with someone you don't know, I think it's not realistic to just tell people to "love yourself" without making efforts to also know yourself.
I emphasized the phrase "the one" because of this common, annoying myth that there's just one person out there for each person. That puts—again—an unrealistic expectation that you have to find this one person who is "meant" for you. I believe for each of us, there are many people who would be a suitable life partner. Timing is the most important factor! And the only way we can really be ready for when that person arrives is by doing the work on ourselves: knowing ourselves and loving ourselves—just as we are, right now—as well as being open to growing, changing, and improving.

Get to know the one, the one, the one and only one
Who will be by your side for all of your life
Get to know yourself
In the ways that only you can
Fall in love, fall in love
Get to know and fall in love with yourself
Look in the mirror
Look yourself in the eye
Let the tears fall
Let the compassion and forgiveness in
Hug yourself tightly
I hug myself
Like my loving mother once did
Without her now, I have become my own
I know myself
I love myself
I begin again.
